Carol Shockley, born November 11, 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025 in Temple Terrace, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 65 years old.

Carol lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, humor, loyalty, and deep love. She had a gift for making those around her feel seen and cherished, and her laughter could brighten even the quietest room. Family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every moment she spent with them.

Carol found joy in so many things from watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing with her Bernadoodle, Charlie, Peloton workouts, cooking, and golfing with her husband. But nothing made her happier than simply being with the people she loved.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel Shockley, and her loving children: Danielle Atlas, Derek Herring, and Joe Herring, along with her son-in-law David Atlas, and daughters-in-law Hannah Herring and Bethany Herring. She leaves behind her cherished mother, Juanita Downey, and her sister, Diane Linhoff. Carol was a proud and deeply loved grandmother to Sam Railey, Avery Herring, Luke Herring, Sophie Atlas, Xander Herring, and Zoey Atlas.

Carol’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and connection. She will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and the way she made every person feel like they mattered. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Loyless Funeral Homes 5310 Land O’Lakes Blvd. Land O’Lakes, Florida 34639 on Wednesday, December 3 at 12:30pm. A gathering for family and friends will be from 11:30am to the start of the service.
