James Cave, 76, born February 15, 1949 and passed away on November 16, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born in Corsicana, Texas, and grew up in Petersburg, Texas, where he began building the foundation of a life marked by dedication, kindness, and quiet strength.

James served for many years as the Director of Pharmacy at Methodist Hospital, a role in which he took great pride. Over 30 years ago, he moved to Albuquerque, the place he would happily call home for the rest of his life.

James was married to the love of his life, Peggy Urton Cave. Their marriage was a source of great joy, partnership, and devotion. After her passing, James found comfort and purpose in the deep bond he shared with his daughter, Kristi Leal. He spent the last decade creating cherished memories with her—years filled with connection, laughter, and love.James enjoyed listening to live music, traveling, and embracing new experiences. He had a lifelong passion for golf and often volunteered at professional golf tournaments, where he made lasting friendships and delighted in being close to the sport he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Erlene Cave, and his beloved wife, Peggy and stepson Jeffery Cuellar.

Those left to treasure his memory include his daughter, Kristi Leal and his brother David Cave and wife Sandy; his grandchildren, Jessica Ramos and Ryan Ramos; and his six great-grandchildren—Noah, Skylar, Rudy, Eva, Asher, and Jaxon and his stepsons John Pat Cuellar and his wife Wendy as well as Tucker and Mary Cuellar.  His family will forever remember him for his generosity, his humor, and the steadfast love he shared with them.

James’s presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of life memorial will be announced at a later date. A special thank you to Kathy Kunda, Kathy Barber, Cynthia Stapleton and Jerri Rodriquez for the love and support they provided.
