It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Mrs. Kathryn "Kathy" Anita Wooldridge, 82, an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Kathy was born December 10th, 1942, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to the late Paul and Gladys Willis. She met her beloved husband of 47 years, Frank Wooldridge. Eventually settling down and retiring in Centerville, Georgia in 1986. She was known for her genuine smile, kind and generous heart, and warm spirit.
While being a devoted wife and mother of five beautiful girls she was a retired paraprofessional school teacher and Sunday school teacher. Traveling and meeting new people were the highlight of her day. She never met a stranger along her way. You could always find her with her church family at Oakland Baptist, but other times you would find her being the Atlanta Braves biggest fan. She never missed a game.
Psalm 27:1 - The Lord is my light and my salvation. One of the many favorite scriptures. It would be a beacon for her and all who knew her in life. She would tell all about how happy lighthouses and her Lord and Savior was her light and salvation every day.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Gladys Willis; and daughter, Donna Gatena.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Frank Wooldridge; daughters: Tracy (Matthew) Summers; Marlis (Roger) Napier; Jerri (Sean) Wynn; Conni (Shannon) Wooldridge; grand-daughters: Kathryn (Matthew) White, Abigail (Kyle) Emanuel, Jacqulene Foley, Sydney Napier, Daisy Wynn, and Rachael Marrs; grandsons: Brian Gatena, Brandon Gatena, Zachary Napier, and Elias Marrs; great grandsons: Henry White, and Seth Napier-Vasile; and sister, Patricia Nester; along with multiple cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, December 5, 2025 at 5:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
