Sandra Hope Price Craft, aka Sandy, was born in Statesville, North Carolina to her parents Hahn Phillip Price and Martha Cleo Westmoreland Price on May 7th, 1952. She grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she graduated from Garinger High School in 1970. As a child Sandy studied dance and was an active girl scout. In her teenage years she proudly worked as a Candy Striper for her local hospital, which she greatly enjoyed. Sandy excelled in her academic studies, and was a member of the National Beta Club in high school. While she delighted in her work at the hospital, Sandy loved children, and it was on her heart to attend college and to become a teacher. She attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, where she would receive her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education in 1974. At Western Carolina she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, and it was in college that she would meet her future husband Joseph Craft, aka Joey. Joey and Sandy were college sweethearts, and would marry at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on July 28th, 1974.

After getting married, Joey and Sandy would move back to Charlotte, where Sandy began to work as a first grade teacher at Indian Trail Elementary School. Sandy greatly enjoyed being a teacher, and particularly enjoyed teaching children how to read. On November 9th, 1981, Joey and Sandy became the proud parents of their daughter, Hilary Hope. Sandy loved being a mother and devoted herself to Hilary's full time care.

Later, Sandy would return to the classroom, this time teaching Pre-School at Episcopal Church of our Savior in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was in charge of the three and four year old classes, and greatly enjoyed caring for the children. Sandy would later go on to own her own business, Safari Moon, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her business sold various jewelry, gifts, and specialty items, and she delighted in owning her own business. In 2005 Sandy would retire after she and Joey relocated to Charleston, South Carolina. Sandy traveled extensively throughout her lifetime, with England, Scotland, and France being among her favorite trips.

Sandy's hobbies and enjoyments included animals, ballet, The Beatles, classic movies from the 1940's, cooking, going to the beach, going to the mountains, reading books, sewing, theater, traveling, and spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Missy.

Sandy passed away on November 28, 2025 from cancer at the age of 73. She and Joey were married for 51 years and had one daughter, Hilary Hope.  Sandy is survived by her husband Joseph Odell Craft, Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina, her daughter Hilary Craft Smith and Son-in-law Rodney James Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and her brother Richard "Ricky" Phillip Price of Gastonia, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Sandy at Simplicity Lowcountry Burial located at 281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, South Carolina 29456 on Saturday, December 6th, 2025.  Visitation with the family will be from 12-1PM followed by a Memorial Service from 1-1:30PM.

Sandy loved flowers, and if you would like to send flowers in honor of Sandy's memory, the family recommends Creech's Florist at creechsfloristinc.com, located in North Charleston. Or, in lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
