Melissa Lynn Edmisten 

11/11/1980-11/17/2025

 

We announced with heavy hearts the sudden passing of Melissa, her absence leaves a void in the lives of those who loved her dearly.

 

She was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs Colorado. She went to Wasson High School, she loved sports and was very competitive, earning many certificates and ribbons.

 

She was very successful, being in managerial positions at a young age, to owning her own cleaning business. She loved to help others, especially the young and elderly.

She was also a CNA, changing the lives of many  with her caring heart.

 

Melissa loved family and was blessed with a host of cousins and many family members. 

She also loved Animals and had a hamster growing up. She loved her cat (Giz) and several dogs, Angel, Kaylee, and Bella, they filled her life with joy.

 

Melissa was preceded in death by:

Grandparents: Thomas Edmisten, Delphia (Faye) Edmisten, Billy Bob Strickland, Virginia Strickland. 

Great Uncles: Johnny Russell, Charles Russell, Ron Edmisten, Gayland Edmisten.

Great Aunt: Wanda Flute 

Uncles: Daniel Edmisten, Rayford Bell II.

Cousin: Jeremy Russell

 

Survived by: Her parents, Thomas Edmisten (Darla), Janet Aguilar (Juan).

Great Uncles: Norman Russell, Larry Russell, David Edmisten, Don Edmisten, Gerald Edmisten.

Great Aunt: Linda Kleis (Charles) 

Aunts: Janet Doan, Carol Zinck, Joni Edmisten, Louann Bell.

Uncles: Vernon Edmisten, Gary Strickland, Danny Strickland (Lynn Carwood), Kevin Strickland (Melanie).

Cousins: Nicole Lewis, Jessie Doan (Rachel), Korina Russell, Jennafer Russell, Donnie LaChance (Nicki), Angela Edmisten, Ashley Edmisten. We entrusted Melissa’s care to: The Springs Funeral Services and a public viewing will be held there on December 2, 2025, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.  3115 E. Platte Ave. Colo. Springs. 

 

Funeral Service will be on December 11, 2025

At Rocky Mountain Calvary Church 

4285 N. Academy Blvd.

Service at 1:00p.m.

 

Graveside service 2:30 p.m. Evergreen Cemetery 

1005 Hancock Expy, Colorado Springs.

 

Reception back at the church at 4:00 p.m. 

Food will be provided.

 

There is a coffee shop at the church where people can wait until the reception, if they choose to forgo the Grave side Service.
