David John MahlerSeptember 9, 1935 – November 27, 2025

David John Mahler, age 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on November 27, 2025. He was born on September 9, 1935, in Kingston, New York, the son of Richard Mahler and Gladys “Ann Gladys” (née Grattan) Mahler. On April 18, 1960, David married the love of his life, Marjorie Anne (née Mack), and together they shared 55 years of devotion, partnership, and the joy of raising their family.

Throughout his career, David worked as a District Sales Manager at Elliot & Hutchins and Bombardier, and he also spent time at the Concord Hotel. Beyond his work, David was deeply committed to community involvement and historic preservation. He proudly supported organizations such as the Franklin County Historical Society, the Waukesha County Museum, the East Troy Railroad Museum, and his church communities, including Notre Dame in Malone, NY, and St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha, WI.

David had a lifelong love of adventure and collecting memories along the way. He enjoyed traveling, toy trains, antique wooden boats, and snowmobiling. Above all, he was a proud and dedicated family man who cherished his six children and the legacy of love he and Marjorie built together.

David is lovingly survived by his children: David J. Mahler (Helen Scheuplein), William R. (Pattie) Mahler, John J. Mahler (Michael Durham), Anne M. Mahler (Mary Blenn), Suzanne (Roy) Brown, and Christine Mahler; grandchildren Melissa, Brandy Anne, Brandon, Ian and their partners; and great-grandchildren Aidan, Brody, Henry, and Charlie. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Marjorie.

A Visitation will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025, at St. William Catholic Church (440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188) beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations in David’s honor be made to the Franklin County Historical Museum & Society House of History (P.O. Box 388, 51 Milwaukee St., Malone, NY, 12953-0388) or the Humane Animal Welfare Society – H.A.W.S. (701 Northview Rd., Waukesha, WI 53188).

David’s warmth, curiosity, and devotion to the people he loved will be forever remembered. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is reunited with Marjorie, sharing eternal peace together.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Summit Woods, Lake Country Health Services, Waukesha Memorial Hospital, and North Shore Hospice for the exceptional care and support provided to David. Their dedication and kindness brought comfort to both him and his loved ones.
