Deber Angela Harris, age 69 passed away on November 19, 2025 at home. She was born on June 1, 1956 in Linden, Guyana to Marina and Hector Percival.
She studied nursing and midwifery at Charles Roza School of Nursing in Linden, Guyana and graduated in 1981 and 1983 respectively. She later met and then married Derick Oliver Harris on December 18th, 1982.
Deber relocated to the United States and settled in Brooklyn NY in 1984 and started working at Down State Medical Center. She moved with her family to Port Charlotte, Fl in 1990.
She became an ICU nurse at the then St. Josephs Hospital in Port Charlotte. She attended Florida Gulf Coast University and completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2000. She retired in 2019 after 38 years of nursing.
Deber loved sewing, gardening, collecting teapots and watching westerns.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 44 years Derick, four loving daughters
Ronetta, Romona, Rolanda and Keisha, one grandchild Jacquelyn, as well as her sister Gail, brother Herbert and many family members and friends who became family. She was preceded in death by her parents Marina and Hector Percival and sister in law Sandra Percival.
Funeral service will be held in December 5th, 2025 at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home in Punta Gorda Florida.
