Terry Major was born to Lawrence and Betty Major on February 24, 1952 in Ft. Collins, Colorado and grew up with 3 siblings. Terry passed away at home on November 26, 2025 with his wife by his side.   

 

Terry was preceded in death by his parents Lawerence and Betty Major, brother Larry Major, sister Betty Berkowitz and sister Laura Major.   

 

He is survived by wife, Joanne Major, sister Blenda (RC Baily) Major, son Jesse (Shara Baars) Major, daughter Kathy (Jeff Bisko) Major, his grandchildren Alexis Roberts and Aiden Major and Kayla and Josh Bisko, nephew Ted (Becky) Major, nephew William (Heidi) Berkowitz, and niece Casandra (Jamie) Joy. Terry had many nieces, nephews and friends who were a part of his life and will remember him fondly.  

 

Terry joined the United States Army in 1970 working his way up to E4 during which time he served as a helicopter mechanic, sharpshooter, a member of the Ruthless Riders and a member of the Platoon World Life in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1972. He was also a member of the Army National Guard.  

 

Shortly after service he met and married Roberta Parish, having two children. After this brief marriage, Terry met and married Joanne in 1985 and was happily married. Terry joined the United States Postal Service where he made lifelong friends and retired in 2010.  

 

Over the years Terry had many various pursuits during which family members and friends often shared with him. Terry had a knack for many games, mostly competitive in nature. Whether it was to Blackhawk to gamble with his wife and/or family and friends, poker games at home, hunting with his nephew Ted, shooting pool on a league with his nephew William, fishing with his kids, Jesse and Kathy, bowling on a leagues as well as attending home Rockies games and an avid fan of the Broncos.  

 

Terry was a supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His memories will live on but he will be missed greatly.  

 

Services will be held  at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Burial to be with full military honors.
