Wilma B. Delk, 96, widow of Martin Dyches Delk, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, just 32 days shy of her 97th birthday. She was a daughter of the late Fred L. and Sallie G. Bedenbaugh and was born in Leesville, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also predeceased by sisters Lillian Usry, Doris Maietta, Varnette Lowe, Vivian and Thelma Bedenbaugh and brothers Arthur, Leo, and Fred Bedenbaugh.
Mrs. Delk worked for Southeastern Freight Lines from 1968 until her retirement in 1995. In her spare time, she liked to sew and crochet. She was quite talented at both and made many beautiful dresses and blankets. After her retirement, she enjoyed her retirement by traveling with tour groups; but nothing made her retirement more enjoyable than being around her grandchildren, who brought her many years of happiness.
Left to cherish her memories are her son Martin Eugene Delk (Kim) of West Columbia, daughter Cynthia Delk Lamb (Jay) of Red Bank, grandsons David Michael Curtis of Columbia, SC, Jonathan Andrew Curtis (Anna) of Fayetteville, NC, Martin Addison Delk of Prattville, AL, and Cameron Hugh Delk of West Columbia, SC, and great-grandchildren Parker and Emmalyn Curtis of Fayetteville, NC.
A funeral service will be held for Mrs. Delk on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Celestial Memorial Gardens, 3111 Delree St., West Columbia, with visitation following the service.
The family would like to thank Prisma Health Hospice for providing care for our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
