Palmer-Dolores (Nichols) Potts, 96, passed away December 2, 2025. Born September 17, 1929, in Monson, she was the daughter of John and Josephine (Verlotta) Nichols. Dolores grew up in Monson and then moved to Pittsburgh with her sister to live with her aunt, Frances after high school. She met and married her late husband, James, and moved to Palmer in 1960. She was a former member of the Second Congregational Church in Palmer and active in the Palmer Senior Center. Dolores loved flowers and bird watching and most especially family gatherings. After her retirement, she was a lunch lady and enjoyed her time seeing the young kids at the ice cream cart. Her memory will forever be cherished by her children, Jim Potts and his wife, Sandy of Forest, Virginia, Nancy Grove and her husband, Bill of Tyngsboro, MA, along with her grandchildren, Rachel, Erin, Michael, Lorna, Emma, John and four great grandchildren, Joshua, Jayce, Keira, and Lukas. Dolores also leaves a brother, Anthony Nichols of Cassellberry, FL. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James A. Potts, her daughter, Lorraine MacDougall, son in law, Matthew and siblings, Betty, Beverly, Colleen, Arlene, Marie, and John. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9 from 11:30am - 12:30 pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home with a service to begin at 12:30pm. Burial will be at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 2pm. For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to the Quaboag Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 47 E.Main St., W.Brookfield, MA 01535 for their care of Dolores.
