He had a passion for the creative arts, which manifested in his love for drawing and painting, showcasing his innate talent and creativity.
In the 1970s, Robert embarked on a career in commercial fishing, a testament to his adventurous spirit. He later found work at the Simpson Mill in Shelton, Washington, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. Beyond his professional life, Robert's greatest impact came from his involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Through his leadership and generosity, he provided support and guidance to many on their journeys to recovery.
Robert shared many moments of joy with his sister, Susan "Lynn" Heinold of Olympia, Washington, and the love of his family resonated throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lloyd Deffinbaugh and Cora Irene Cole Deffinbaugh, and is survived by his beloved sister, Lynn. He also cherished the memory of his grandparents, Lloyd W. and Mary Deffinbaugh, and Earnest and Frances "Susie" Cole.
Known for his good humor, Robert was a loyal friend and brother who embodied the qualities of kindness and generosity. As a born-again Christian, he lived his faith and shared hope with those around him. His passion for fishing brought him peace and happiness, providing a perfect backdrop for his contemplative and artistic spirit.
