Jack Lyal Weeks, 91, passed away on December 3, 2025, from a brief illness. He was born on February 9, 1934, to Clarence Willy Weeks and Zula Fern Badgley. Jack spent his childhood in the home his father built—with the help of his three older brothers, Ken, Glenn, and Dick—in the Mud Bay area of Olympia, Washington.
Jack was the first in his family to pursue and complete a formal education. He graduated from Griffin Grade School in 1948, Olympia High School in 1952, St. Martin’s College in 1960, and later earned a degree from Golden Gate University in 1976. His distinguished career in Criminal Justice spanned both state and federal service on the West and East Coasts.
He also served his country with pride in the Third Marine Air Wing of the United States Marine Corps in San Diego, California, from 1954 to 1957.
Jack married Anona Lockwood at St. Michael’s Church in Olympia, and they shared 49 years of marriage until her passing in 2005. Jack and Anona were long-time members of the Sacred Heart Church community in Lacey.
Jack was later separated from his second wife Laurel Hayes.
Civically engaged and culturally aware, Jack approached life with curiosity, commitment, and resilience. Following open-heart surgery in 2018, he made a full recovery and remained determined to “keep on going,” buoyed by the dedicated staff at Panorama Convalescent & Rehabilitation in Lacey.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Brenda Stefanski (Jeff); his sons, Dr. Kevin A. Weeks (Hershey), Lance (Kathy), Matthew (Anna), and Neal (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Tiffany Maxion (Jon), Paul Minor-Weeks (Anna), A. Rachel Trevino, Miriam Weeks, and Deven Weeks; and his great-grandchildren, Liliana and Anthony Maxion, and Juniper, Elouise, and Silas Minor-Weeks.
A private graveside service will be held at the Weeks family cemetery row in Masonic Memorial Park, Tumwater, Washington.
