Rotha “Ray” Ayers, June 1932 to November 2025.
Proceeded in death by late wife of 61 years Jean Ann Ayers. Born to the late George Dewey Ayers and Daisy Ayers (Vickers) in Marion North Carolina. A proud 20-year veteran, U.S Air Force, receiving many awards and citations, including the Bronze Star Medal. He went on to a successful career in retail. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years, fishing, metal detecting, playing cards, storytelling, and beginning most mornings having coffee with his good friends swapping yarns.
He is survived by his three children - Nanci (Bob), Ray (Tanya), and Sarah, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
May he rest in Peace

Dying in your thirties is “tragic” as is forties, sympathy dissipates from there;
Fifties is “such a shame,”
Sixties is “too soon,”
Seventies is “a good run,” and
Eighties is “a life well lived.”
But nineties… That’s a hell of a ride…
