Mrs. Margaret Ann Simpson passed away with her family by her side Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the age of 82 due to Alzheimer's at Brookdale Assisted Living & Memory Care in Sarasota, Florida. Margaret was born on September 1, 1943, in Boston, MA as the daughter of the late Noah John Leate & Alice M. (Gilmore) Leate. Margaret grew up in Waltham, MA and graduated from Waltham High School in 1962. Margaret married Richard on February 9, 1963 at the Lakeview Congregational Church in Waltham, MA. Her 62-year marital journey with Richard spanned across the towns of Marlborough, Waltham, Rexhame Beach - Marshfield, MA & Sarasota FL. During that time, she held worked as an Office Assistant, Teacher Assistant for the PACE (Pilgrim Arena Collaborative) Furnace Brooke Middle School in Marshfield, Volunteer for Massachusetts Special Olympics &Interior Decorator for her own ABA Interiors Company. Margaret was a devoted wife & mother who never wavered from placing her family first. She was her children’s biggest advocate. She was an avid congregate for multiple churches. She was a fantastic cook, baker, enjoyed fitness and sewing and making clothes. Margaret loved Rexhame Beach where she made lifelong friends. She shared longs walks with her family & friends collecting seashells & sea glass. In 1995, Margaret moved to Sarasota, FL with Richard, Francine & David where they designed &built a home on Casey Key where she enjoyed the beaches, dining & dancing. Over the years Margaret enjoyed traveling with family and friends to Niagara Falls, Disney, Bermuda, Italy, France & Caribbean Islands. Margaret is predeceased by her siblings James, Johnny (twin), Lillian, Alice, Mabel, William, Harold and Charles as well as her brother & sister in-laws John Leone, Lucy Leate, Joanne Whalen & William Whalen. Margaret is survived by her sister Gladys Leone, her husband Richard Sr, children Richard Jr &Francine R. Medeiros & David, son-in-law Anthony Medeiros, daughter-in-law Tanya Simpson as well as her grandchildren Abbie Bedard, Leo Simpson, Susannah Simpson, Mikayla Medeiros, Daniel Simpson & Tyler Simpson. The family will be honoring Margaret with a private memorial service at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 5394 Midnight Pass Rd in Sarasota Florida.
