Ms. Gwenda Gaynell “GG” Kassaw, age 93, a resident of Auburndale, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Valencia Hills Health & Rehab surrounded by family. Ms. Kassaw was born April 28, 1932, in Sand Mountain, Alabama to John Wesley and Elzie Viola (Guthrie) Rowell. She was a resident of Auburndale since the 1970’s, coming from Alabama, graduated from Fairview High School in Alabama and attended Lakeland Business College. She retired as an Administrative Assistant in the Office Technology Industry. GG was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Auburndale, member of the Ladies Sunday School and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, playing board games, crocheting, cooking, baking but most of all loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers – Malcolm & Buster and her granddaughter – Michelle Renee Windisman. GG is survived by her loving & devoted family, 2 daughters – Renee (Dean) Evans and Lee Windisman; 5 grandchildren – Bucky Brown, Bo Brown, Beth Brown (Rick) Wiley, Laney Windisman (JP) Bouvier and Austin (Amy) Evans; 8 great grandchildren – Braxton, Jordyn, Preston, Guy, Brooks, Avery, Miles and Callie. In lieu of flowers donations in GG’s name may be made to: First United Methodist Church (Mission Team), 316 Lake Ariana Blvd., Auburndale, Florida, 33823. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, December 15th at the First United Methodist Church, 316 Lake Ariana Blvd. in Auburndale. Visitation will be held before services from 10-11am at the church. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
