Barbara Bosworth, age 90, peacefully entered her eternal rest with the Lord on November 30, 2025, surrounded by her family after bravely enduring her long journey of Breast Cancer with strength and grace.

Barbara was born on January 23, 1935, in Chillicothe, OH, to Jesse and Margaret Johnson.

She was the oldest girl of 8 siblings - Joe, Rosabelle, Betty, Ida Mae, Geraldine, Virginia “Jenny”, Bonnie, and John.

She met and married the love of her life Ronald Bosworth. During his years of service in the Air Force (including the Korean War), they lived overseas in England and various US bases including Port O’Connor, Texas. Once his military service ended, they moved back to Ohio and worked in the logging industry.

In approximately 1961, they moved to St. Petersburg, Fl where they opened a Gulf Gas and Service Station, owned a farm in Brooksville, and enjoyed ballroom dance classes. Together they raised 4 children. After her husband passed, she continued to live out her years here in St. Petersburg.

Barbara was a strong, independent, and courageous woman who raised 2 grandchildren as her own and helped raise many great-grandchildren.

Among her many joys were spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren’s school and sports events, decorating for every season, and faithfully showing up at every moment her grandchildren needed her.

More than any accomplishment or job title, she treasured her family above all else. Her greatest joy was found in their presence - offering a love that was unyielding, and constant with devotion that never wavered. She encouraged them through every season of life, always teaching, and guiding them with the example of her character and actions. To her, family was a blessing God placed at the center of life, and the love she poured out will continue to guide and comfort those who were blessed to know her.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Margaret Johnson, her husband Ronald Bosworth, her daughter Brenda Lehman, and all 8 of her siblings.

She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, who carry her love forward.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 23, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Suncoast Cathedral Assembly of God. 2300 62nd Avenue N. St. Petersburg, FL 33702.
