Raymond A, Bishop, 90, of Jamesville, passed away on Sunday, December 7th at Loretto Nursing Home. Ray was born in Syracuse, NY to Arnold and Mildred (Gage) Bishop. He graduated from LaFayette High School. Ray joined the US Army and serviced our country for 20 years. Ray worked as a carpenter for various contractors including; his uncle Andy Mayer, the Carpenter's Union and Syracuse University. Upon retirement, he worked for Wegman's in DeWitt. Ray was a member of the Jamesville Grange, LaFayette Cemetery board, Coye Road Cemetery board and the Columbian Presbyterian Church. His greatest legacy is his family who he cherished most of all.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Carleton.
Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sally (Marris) Bishop, children, Linda (Lanny) Schantz, David Bishop, Alan (Erin) Bishop and Mark (Heather) Bishop, 3 grandchildren, Allison, Abbigail and Emily, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and special cherished Emma and Allicat, his fur babies.
Calling hours will be held from 9AM to 11AM on Friday, Dec.12th at Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette, with a funeral service immediately following at 11AM.
Burial will be in LaFayette Rural Cemetery.
