Robert (Bob) William Roberts, 86, of Viera, Florida, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 5, 2025. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 30, 1939, he was the only child of Verne and Verone (Vogt) Roberts. He shared 59 devoted years with his beloved wife, Jeanne (Knuth) Roberts, who preceded him in death. Robert spent most of his life in Gurnee, Illinois, before moving to Florida in 2002, where he enjoyed the warmth and beauty of his final years.

Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force from December 4, 1961, to November 16, 1965, working overseas as a strategic planner during the Vietnam War. His service carried him around the world, giving him experiences he cherished throughout his life. Among his fondest memories were the times he spent in Germany and Switzerland, places he spoke of often and with great affection.

To his grandson Gage, Robert was “the smartest man in the world,” a title he wore with humble pride. A master of trivia, he rarely lost a game of Trivial Pursuit. His talents extended far beyond his sharp mind—he was an extraordinary artist and worked as a technical illustrator for International Harvester and Multi Graphics, meticulously crafting schematics and blueprints by hand.

Robert created countless memories with his children during summers at Six Flags Great America, riding roller coasters again and again with the enthusiasm of someone half his age. In his later years, one of his greatest joys was visiting the Viera Wetlands. He had a remarkable knowledge of birds and wildlife and loved observing the natural world. He also enjoyed evenings watching The Big Bang Theory, the Game Show Network, and especially his favorite show, Jeopardy. Gentle, thoughtful, and quietly kind, Robert will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his children, Kyle (Lenuta) Roberts and Mindy (Robert) Dwyer; his granddaughter Jordan; his grandson Gage; and his step-grandson Andrew, who lovingly helped care for him in his final months. He is also survived by his beloved Pomeranian, Mya. Robert is reunited in heaven with his parents and his wife, Jeanne.

A private graveside memorial will be held at a later date.
