Ronald “Ron” E. Moe, of Waukesha, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on January 2, 1938, in Edgerton, WI, to Rupert and Pauline (Griffith) Moe. Ron married the love of his life, Diane DeBartelo, on June 14, 1974. A passionate learner, Ron was a graduate of Edgerton High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While in college, he participated in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). After graduation, he served on active duty with the U.S. Army Chemical Corps at Ft. McClellan, AL and Ft. Bragg, NC. After graduating from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Ron moved to Waukesha, joining the 84th Division (Tng) Railsplitters Reserves out of Milwaukee. He retired from his Army service after 20 years with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (LTC). Ron taught in the Waukesha School District at Central and Butler Middle Schools. He then worked at Waukesha Memorial Hospital as a Boiler Operator before moving to Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in 1969 as Chief Engineer. He retired in 2009 after 40 years of employment. Described as a quiet man, Ron surprised and delighted his family and friends with his dry sense of humor. With a heart for service and connection, Ron was the past president of the WI Healthcare Engineering Association and a member of the Southeastern Wisconsin Windows User Group. A tech enthusiast, he delighted in helping and sharing information with other computer fans. Ron will be deeply missed by his wife, Diane, and his sister, Karen Moe. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judith Engle. Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home is entrusted with Ron’s care. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the funeral home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188, from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. The memorial service will immediately follow, with Deacon Gary Stephani officiating.
