Susan R. Wheeler, 64, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. She was born on June 13, 1961, in Troy, New York, and later made her home in Florida, where she built a life filled with family, laughter, and unwavering determination.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Robert Wheeler Sr. She was the cherished daughter of Arden and Wayne Connors, and a beloved sister to Jeffrey Proctor (Joann), Lisa Lazzara (Angelo), and Kelly Hussey (William).

A devoted mother, Susan leaves behind her children: Kelly Heath, Robert Wheeler Jr. (Kelly), Matthew Wheeler (Elizabeth), Carolyn Jeremiah (Alec), Allen Level (Summer), and her bonus son, Paul Hay. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Paige Lovett (Austin), Sophia, Mariah, Karah, Alina, Braxton, AJ, Alana, Dawson, Wyatt, Charlotte, and Hannah, and a delighted great-grandmother to Kaiden and Kase.

Susan attended Paxton High School in Jacksonville, Florida, and later enjoyed a long career working in accounts payable for various auto dealerships, dedicating more than 20 years to the field.

Those who knew Susan will forever remember her vibrant spirit. As a child, she never went without her beloved bag of Doritos and a Pepsi—simple joys that followed her throughout life and became part of her story. She loved playing pool, dancing, gambling, and singing karaoke, and she approached life with a feisty personality and a heart of gold. Susan had a way of bringing energy, humor, and warmth into every room she entered.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at VFW Post 10140 on January 31 at 2pm.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
