Rose Manganaro, of Glassboro, NJ, passed away in her home on December 10, 2025. She was 102 years old.
Born in Johnstown, PA, to Antonio and Carmella Polillo, Rose has been a resident of Glassboro since 1932. After she completed her education, Rose went on to work at the Owens factory in Glassboro, followed by RCA in Camden, manufacturing radar parts during World War II. Once Rose was married, she stayed at home to raise her 9 children, occasionally working for numerous local businesses. One such business involved helping a seamstress. Rose took interest and acquired a new skill that she could apply to different aspects of her life.
Rose loved spending time with family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for children, and children always felt loved and seen with Rose around. Many childhood friends, nieces and nephews always remarked and still to this day do about how Rose felt like a second mother to them. Summertime in the neighborhood where Rose lived were always met with ice-cream sodas after the Dodgeball games she hosted – what a treat!
Predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Carmella (Rizzo) Polillo; her husband, Paul Manganaro, Sr., and her siblings, Leonard Polillo, Tony Polillo , Louis Polillo, Antonette Bauer, Cookie Stein and Carmella Schatz, she is survived by her children, Patrick, Susan, Christopher, Paul Jr., Linda (George), Maria, Sam (Sharon), Michael (Shelia) and Joanne; 14 Grandchildren and 16 Greatgrandchildren; siblings, John Polillo, Suzy Haines, Mary Demarco and Jean Moldoff.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ and on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 9:45am until 10:45am at St. Bridget’s University Parish, Glassboro. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am at St. Bridget’s University Parish, Glassboro, followed by interment at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
