**Obituary for Kathleen Mazur** Kathleen Mazur, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on November 27, 2025, at Capri HealthCare in Venice, Florida. She was born on January 2, 1950, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to a loving family that nurtured her kind spirit and ambitious nature. Kathleen dedicated her life to nursing, where she made numerous contributions and left an indelible mark on her community. A proud graduate of Middlesex County Community College in New Jersey, she worked in various capacities, including Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), Unit Manager, and RN supervisor. Her commitment to her profession was highlighted during her tenure at Sunset Lake Health and Rehab, Manor Care, and Village on the Isle in Venice. She was known affectionately by her staff for her spirited personality, often encouraging residents to move to meals or activities with her signature phrase, “chop, chop!” delivered with a clap of her hands. Kathleen’s warmth and energetic demeanor extended beyond her career. She cherished her time with family and thrived on the joy of crocheting, reading, and dancing. Her passion for music was matched only by her love for the New York Yankees, a team she faithfully supported. Most treasured were the moments spent playing with her great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Christopher, who brought endless joy and laughter to her life. Kathleen is survived by her loving spouse, John Mazur; her daughter, Kimberley Dowling, and her spouse, Charles; her son, George Hizer, and his spouse, Melody; as well as her stepchildren, Janine Mazur and her spouse, Jordan, John Mazur Jr., and Monique Mazur. She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren, Tiffany, Charles, Heather, and Joey, and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Johnathan, and Kailey. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. At this time, no services are planned to honor Kathleen's memory, as her family reflects on the wonderful life she lived. Kathleen's kindness and passion for caring for others will resonate in the hearts of all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched. In these moments of sorrow, the family invites everyone to remember Kathleen not with sadness, but with appreciation for her vibrant spirit and the countless memories shared. She will be dearly missed, yet lovingly remembered.
