Obituary for Jessica Marie Montoya-TranWith profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jessica Marie Montoya-Tran, who departed this life at the age of 52. Jessica was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and a deeply cherished presence in the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Clovis, New Mexico, Jessica was the beloved daughter of Marianne Sena and Jerry Martinez. After graduating high school, she answered a higher call, to serve her country. Jessica joined the United States Army, where she proudly served for eight years as a Combat Medic—a role that reflected her courage, compassion, and instinctive desire to care for others.Jessica is survived by her husband, Tony Tran; her daughters, Alicia Lamb and Samiah Ricks; and her beloved grandchildren Lucian Platero, Marius Lamb, Harlow Lamb, and Demitrius Carroll. She also leaves behind their spouses and partners: Justin Lamb (“Sonshine”) and Shanika Ricks, all of whom she embraced with love, kindness.
Jessica lived a life filled with kindness, warmth, and an open heart. She took great joy in caring for her furbabies and reptiles, finding peace and companionship in the animals she nurtured. But above all, Jessica will be remembered for her extraordinary generosity of spirit. She never turned anyone away and made everyone feel welcomed, offering comfort, acceptance, and understanding without hesitation. Her home—and her heart—were always open.
Her life was marked by loyalty, strength, and an enormous capacity for love. Jessica touched countless lives with her humor, her honesty, her compassion, and her remarkable ability to make others feel seen and valued. Her warmth filled every room, and her presence created a sense of belonging that will be deeply missed.
Jessica’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, her memory remains a guiding light—shining through the stories shared, the love she offered, and the generations she shaped.
Details regarding her memorial service will be shared with friends and loved ones.
May her beautiful spirit rest in peace and may those who loved her find comfort in the strength, warmth, and love she leaves behind.
