Vijay Kumar passed away December 10, 2025, at his home. He was born on November 16, 1947, in Dhulata Punjab.

Vijay immigrated to the United States in 1973 and settled in Yuba City, CA, with his wife, Naresh Bhagirath where he worked as a farm laborer until he retired.

Vijay was hard-working, loving, and dedicated to his faith. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. If you knew him, you know his favorite thing to do was to be the "supervisor" of all things. His infectious laughter and sense of humor will be missed dearly.

Vijay is survived by his wife, Naresh Bhagirath; his children: Anjna Dutta, Ajay Bhagirath, Alena Dosanjh, and Priya Takher; his sister, Santosh Shelopal; his brother, Vinod Bhagirath; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Late Faqir Chand Bhagirath; his mother, Late Mohan Dai; and his sisters: Late Usha Rani Bassi, Late Kanta Davit, Late Puspha Rani Bhardwaj, and Late Darshna Bhangu.

As we bid farewell to our beloved Vijay, we welcome you to join us for the funeral services on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11am at the Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City. The services will be followed by prayer and lunch at the Sri Narayan Hindu Temple on Franklin Road in Yuba City, CA.
