Kathleen Goodman Strasser passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at her home on Saturday, December 7, 2025, following a brief illness. She was 93 years old. Kathleen was born in Tucson, Arizona, on August 1, 1932, the daughter of Avez and Rulon Goodman. She spent her early years in Tucson, where she was a high school cheerleader and worked alongside her father in his local stores. Married at a young age, Kathleen's main priority and greatest joy was being a mother. She raised four children of her own and was a loving bonus mom to three others. After her children were grown, she pursued her lifelong interest in service, going to nursing school and eventually becoming a dedicated caregiver. Her profound commitment to providing the highest quality of life for others led her to open and run three successful care homes known as The Heatherwoods. This mission began after her husband, Robert, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, driven by her desire to ensure he—and others—received the best possible care. An artist at heart, Kathleen loved to paint, carve gourds, and engrave. She loved music, with Frank Sinatra and Neil Diamond among her favorites, enjoyed playing the piano, and especially delighted in square dancing. She also had a special affection for animals and was dedicated to her community, spending years organizing her school reunions. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints created the foundation of her outlook on life, and she faithfully served in many callings, blessing both those she served with and those she served. The home her husband built was a central hub for the family, where Kathleen hosted countless reunions, weddings, and get-togethers. She ensured there was always a family dinner with her grandchildren present, and her boundless love made each of her grandchildren feel, without question, that they were her favorite. Kathleen’s life was defined by her devotion to her family, a legacy that will be cherished by the generations she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert King Strasser; her parents, Avez and Rulon Goodman; her sisters, Margarite Ball and Myrna Llamas; and two of her children, Bob Strasser and Mike Strasser. She also sadly mourned the loss of one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter, and one great-great-granddaughter. Kathleen is survived by her devoted children: Linda Lindsey (Phillip Lindsey, deceased) Laura Owsley, (Bill Owsley) Larry Stead, (Amy Stead) Danny Strasser, and Debi Cole, (George Cole). Her memory will continue to shine brightly through her large and beautiful family, including 21 grandchildren, 58great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Adair Funeral Homes, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Tucson, on Friday December 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Graveside Burial will follow at 5401 S. Park Ave.Tucson, on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Flowers may be delivered to the funeral home prior to the 19th. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to your local animal shelters or disabled veterans' organizations.
