Michael was born in Riverton, Wyoming Christmas Day 1982. He grew up with his two younger brothers Josh and Steve and sister Ellie and missionary parents in Bolivia, South America. He graduated as a valedictorian of his class at Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where he also served on the worship team and youth counseled at the Franklin Graham crusade there in his senior years. He received scholarships to Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, WA, where he also began working as a social worker with homeless and mental health patients. This led to an interest in public service law. He was the recipient of the2010 William H. Gates Public Service Law scholarship to University of Washington law school. During summers he received public service grants from the Bill Gates Foundation, clerking at the Supreme Court of Mexico, working with the governments of India and Kenya in the field of legal protection for women at risk. In 2014 Michael was recruited to add a PhD in Epidemiology to his law degree in public service with the goal of working with governments globally in areas of public health. Michael is survived by his parents, Martin and Jeanette Windle, brothers Josh (Marie)Windle and Stephen Windle, sister Ellie (Ryan) Windle and nephews and nieces.
