Eleftherios “Eddie” Gallos, 82, born on September 19, 1943, passed away on December 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Eddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his adored wife of 53 years, Irmgard Gallos; his daughter, Christina Gallos; and his cherished grandchildren — granddaughters Zoë, Sophia, and Isabella Gallos, and grandsons Dameon and Jaxon Gallos. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Phoebe Caron. Eddie is also survived by his brothers Nick, Kosta, and Sotiri Gallos, and his sister Glykeria Rizou, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who all adored him.
He was predeceased by his son, Athanasios “Saki” Gallos; his father, Athanasios Gallos; his mother, Stavroula Gallos; and his brothers Christos and Pavlos Gallos.
Known to everyone simply as Eddie, he immigrated to the United States in 1958, later returning in 1975 with his wife and children in search of better opportunities and a brighter future. Growing up with very little, Eddie learned early on the value of hard work, resilience and determination – qualities that guided him throughout his life and shaped his success. Through perseverance, he became a successful restaurant owner, working side by side with his brothers and son — building not only a business, but a lasting family legacy.
Eddie found joy in life’s simple pleasures: deep-sea fishing, riding his bicycle around the neighborhood, taking daily walks with his beloved cat, Toby, and watching the NBA to name a few. He treasured family vacations in Aruba, and nothing made him happier than spending his summers in Greece, surrounded by relatives and lifelong connections.
So admired and respected by many, Eddie had the honor of being a Godfather to twelve children across the U.S, Germany, Greece and even Aruba – a true reflection of the love and respect he earned throughout his life.
Eddie had a playful spirit. He loved to laugh, dance, and was known to play practical jokes now and then, likely inspired by his favorite TV shows The Three Stooges and Benny Hill.
Eddie will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, humor, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the family he held so close to his heart.
A memorial service will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Beach Funeral Homes - Hammondsport Central, located at 1689 S Patrick Dr, Satellite Beach, FL 32937.
