Clella Frances Pepple, 94 of Fruitland, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born September 2, 1931, in Kimball, Nebraska, the oldest daughter of Trenton and Cecil Moss. Her early years with her six siblings were spent in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The family moved from Iowa to Payette, Idaho in the mid-1940’s where Clella graduated from Payette High School in 1949.
Clella married Jake Pepple on May 2, 1955, at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. They had one son, Jim, and moved into their Fruitland home in 1959. She worked at the Payette County Treasurer and Clerk offices for 22 years where she developed many close, lifelong friendships.
Clella (and Jake too) was very proud of Jim and followed all his sporting events from little league baseball through high school sports, never missing a game. As proud grandparents, they would make the drive to Boise to watch all Jason’s activities and sports. But as proud as she was of Jim and Jason, they had to step aside when her great grandsons, Joseph and Jacob, were born.
Family was important to Clella. She was always ready to host family gatherings and encouraged cousins to gather even after the passing of most of her siblings.
Clella was kind and always appreciative of others and had a great sense of humor. She never complained and tried to make the best of every situation. She missed Jake terribly but continued on for 16 years without him. To help fill the void, she attended weekly Solo lunches at the Payette Senior Center and enjoyed her monthly card games with “the ladies.”
Clella is survived by her son Jim and wife Adele, grandson Jason and wife Erin, and great grandsons, Joseph and Jacob; sisters-in-law, Janell Moss and Norma Moss, and numerous nieces and nephews. Clella was preceded in death by her husband Jake; her parents; two sisters - Lois Kautz and Icil Baker; four brothers - Marion, Roger, Ira, and Denzel Moss, as well as several brothers- and sisters-in-law and nephews.
Clella was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, GiGi, aunt, and friend - she will be so missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clella’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to your favorite charity. Special thanks to All Care Hospice and Table Rock Senior Living for all their kindness, compassionate care, and support
