Larry Fort Lloyd, 78, passed away on December 18, 2025. Born in Swansea, South Carolina, Larry was a lifelong resident of the area and a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church in Gaston, SC.
Larry was a hard-working family man who took great pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially cutting grass, driving tractors, and spending time outdoors. Above all, he truly cherished time spent with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He also dearly loved his yellow Labrador retriever, “Boogy,” who was a constant and faithful companion.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Melton Lloyd and FloraDelle Smith Lloyd; his sisters, Mary Ernestine Lloyd, Ruth Kaye Lloyd Harley, and Llewellyn Lloyd Sharpe; and his brothers, David Lavern Lloyd, Willie Ray Lloyd, Byron Paul Lloyd, and Donald LaRoache Lloyd.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Price Lloyd; his sons, Joe Lloyd and Lee Lloyd; his sister, Alice Faye Lloyd Lee; his brother-in-law, Durant Sharpe; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on December 23, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 1477 W.E. Jeffcoat Road, Gaston, SC 29053.
Larry Fort Lloyd will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love for his family, and faithful, humble life. His legacy will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
