Cleveland Wilson Lucas Jr., also known as “Buddy,” was a man of unwavering faith who loved the Lord and sought to live according to His Word. He led his family by example—through prayer, integrity, and service to others. His home was built on love, discipline, and reverence for God, and his children were his greatest earthly joy.

A hardworking and dependable man, Buddy believed in providing, protecting, and guiding his family with wisdom and patience. He was known for his kindness, strength, and willingness to help anyone in need. His words were thoughtful, his actions sincere, and his faith evident in the way he lived each day.

He was a Tool and Die Maker employed at Harsco Track Technologies HTT aka Harsco Rail (maker of railroad construction and maintenance equipment) in West Columbia. He retired in 2009 after working there for 39 years. His employers and fellow workers knew him as a dedicated worker who demonstrated his faith in his work ethic.

Cleveland Wilson Lucas Jr. is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jerrie R. Lucas, three children, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his older sister Bonnie L. Evans, who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Though he is no longer with us, his love remains a guiding light. He will always be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. We rejoice in the assurance that he has gone home to be with the Lord he faithfully served. We pray that his legacy of faith, love, and righteousness will continue to live on through all who knew him.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23.

Pallbearers will be Cleveland W. Lucas III, R. Allen Johnson, John S. Saulsgiver, Chris J. Long, Zachary W. Saulsgiver, and Elijah W. Saulsgiver.
