Drew Szurek, of Westville, NJ passed away at Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township on Thursday, December 25, 2025. He passed away while surrounded by loving family. Drew was 75 years old.

Leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service and quiet strength, Drew was a devoted and loving father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered for his generous heart, willingness to help anyone in need and a determination that could only be described as endearingly stubborn.

Drew is a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran, serving honorably during the Vietnam War. This chapter of his life shaped his character and instilled in him loyalty and pride for his country, carrying these values in everyday life, and leading by example for others.

Drew loved to bring laughter into the room. He had a sharp sense of humor and loved to crack jokes. He had a passion for sports cars, appreciating the craftmanship, power and beauty. Drew’s love, guidance and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Drew is survived by his son, James “Jim” Szurek; his siblings, David Szurek and his wife Janet, Linda Szurek and her partner Ruth Szczepanski and Reverand Doctor Pamela Szurek; his nieces and nephews, Stephen and his wife Gloria, Katie and her husband Jeff and Jeff and his wife Stacy. He is also survived by caregivers turned friends, Joey and Kevin, his canine companion, Dusty and his remaining extended family and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 3:00pm until 4:00pm at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home at 4:00pm where his sister, Rev. Dr. Pamela Szurek will officiate.
