Maurice Rondell McClain of Niagara Falls, New York passed away on Wednesday December 17, 2025. He was born on April 24,1972 in Niagara Falls, NY to Cartha Ray and Rlee McClain.

Raised in Niagara Falls, Maurice was affectionately known to family and friends as Reese. From an early age, he had a joyful, outgoing personality that drew people to him. He loved the television show Happy Days and was famous for mimicking “The Fonz “with a charming “Ayyyy” that could make anyone laugh. Maurice enjoyed playing football and proudly graduated from Niagara Falls High School.

Maurice served as a maintenance manager at Cannon Designs and later worked as a crew leader with Piedmont Airlines. Maurice made Charlotte, NC his second home. He worked for American Airlines, along with other ventures. He loved the warm weather and the Carolina culture. Maurice was a familiar and friendly face at his local barbershop where he was given his shop name “Mo”.

Above all, Maurice was a people person. He was kind and always wanted those around him to be happy. If someone was feeling down Reese was sure to lift their spirits. His greatest joy in life was being a father and grandfather. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply, not only as their dad and grandad, but also as their friend.

The one love that rivaled his devotion to his children was his love for his mother. Maurice proudly called himself a “mama’s boy,” never missing an opportunity to visit or call her if able, no matter the distance. Maurice leaves behind a family that is tightly woven in love, laugher and loyalty. He will be remembered as a devoted son, proud father and grandfather, a cherished brother, a protective and caring uncle, and a man whose bright spirit and humor will be deeply missed.

Maurice is survived by his son Marquan Myles, daughter Makala (Tony) Hawthorne, daughter Endia McClain, son Maurice McClain Jr., son Micah “Kyrie” McClain and his grandchildren. Maurice is also survived by his loving mother Rlee McClain, his sister Shirley (Jeffrey) Tucker, brother Arthur “Curt” McClain, sister Charnaye (Ron Lopez) Bosley and sister Melissa Jackson Holloway; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Maurice was predeceased by his son Marcello McClain, his father Cartha Ray McClain, his brother Eddie Dean McClain and his grandmother Rosie Drake.
