Mary Ann, 88, of Winter Haven, Florida, formerly Indianapolis, Indiana, passed from this life into eternal life on December 24, 2025. A devoted Catholic, she lived her life in faith, embodying the teachings of Christ through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family.

She was a devoted and absolutely enamored wife to Chuck for 25 wonderful years. Mary Ann was a loving, doting, and proud mother to two daughters, Bettina Lynn Price Riddle and Tamara Lynn Price Hoagland. Both girls followed in their mom's footsteps as nurses. She spread that love, doting and pride to her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She dedicated her life to nurturing Tina and Tammy and instilling in them the values of love, faith, learning and service and finding a piece of joy in every day.

Mary Ann was born on April 22, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Thomas Carr howe High School and went on to earn her degree in Nursing from Marion University. Mary Ann committed her life to caring for others, working as a nurse at Community East Hospital for over 25 years. Her kindness, laughter and unwavering reassurance touched the lives of many patients.

Mary Ann loved traveling to see the wonders of God's creations. She was adventurous, an avid reader, she loved music and would sing to the top of her lungs, and she collected cookbooks. Not sure why, she didn't like to cook. One of Mary Ann's joys was to laugh and hear laughter. She said, "laughter fills the head and heart with happiness all day long." One of her many blessings was spending time with her family. To many, Mary Ann was known for her warm smile, flavor shades of red hair, a trendy dresser, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome.

Grounded in her faith and up bringing, she shared it in big ways and small. Prayers were ever on her lips and in her heart for those she encountered, often spontaneously saying prayers for her patients in lifting request heavenward. Mary Ann was a faithful prayer partner to many close friends and family members.

Mary Ann is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Chuck; her daughter, Bettina; grandchildren, Matthew Riddle (Kellie), Kelsey Riddle, Emily Paugh (Caleb), Max Hoagland (Shelby), Sam Hoagland; six great grandchildren, brother, Mike Walker (Ruth Ann Grever), sister-in-law, Janet Walker and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Lynn Price Hoagland, her mother, Mildred F. Buckler, stepfather, Earnest F. Buckler, father, Russell Walker, brothers, Russell Walker and Thomas Walker, sister, Rose Ann Walker Trees and paternal grandparents.

A celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held on January 7th at 9:00 AM at St Matthew Catholic Church, Winter Haven, Florida.

In lieu of flowers please consider donations to The American Cancer Society.
