Gary Lee Rosencrantz, 87, passed away at home December 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by parents Melville Ray and Gertrude Agnes (Webb) Rosencrantz, sister, Melody Cramer (Warren), brothers Ronald (Betty), Robert (Lucille “Skip”), Kenneth (Virginia), and Granddaughter, Alexis (Lexie). He is survived by his two brothers Melville Ray and Randy (Julie) as well as his wife Bethany (Decker), daughters Ethadee Rosencrantz and Loretta (Robyn) Rosencrantz (Jason Butler), and sons Earl Rosencrantz (Kami), Jason Rosencrantz, and Wes Brent, his grandchildren Christine Brent, Katie Hought (Derek), Luke Murphy, Austin Murphy (Melissa), Devon Isaacson, Nathan Isaacson (Samantha), Sean Rosencrantz, Travis Waggener (Shelby), Walker Thornton, David (Bubba) Clark, great-grandchildren Dana Hought, Wyatt, Myranda and Riata Murphy, Charli and Chase Isaacson, Kyler Rosencrantz, Layla Harris, as well as numerous extended family.
Gary was born in Great Bend, Kansas and spent his childhood in Arkansas. His high school years were in Wilder, Idaho. After several years working for Davis Packing Company in Boise Idaho, he left to serve his country by enlisting in the US Air Force. There he met and married Bethany. After they were honorably discharged, they moved to Oregon. While raising the family together, he served as a civil servant with the US Post Office as a mail carrier. He retired from the US Post Office and became owner/operator of Rosencrantz Trucking for several years. Upon retiring from trucking, he could not sit still. He hired on driving hay truck for Rediger Farm where he enjoyed the family atmosphere of the farm. He also greatly enjoyed keeping up on all family adventures and antics. He enjoyed RVing from coast to coast to visit family and friends and enjoying the spectacular countryside along the way.
Gary was a remarkable man, an exceptional provider, always prioritizing others’ needs above his own. The lens for which he viewed the world was through goodness. He was a devoted husband and father. He had an easy-going demeanor. His sense of humor was always at the ready to make people laugh. And, he enjoyed being a bit ornery at times. He was always imparting practical wisdom and future planning to the family, even when he was told, “Grandpa, I know what I’m doing.” A chuckle from Grandpa. He was filled with courage and determination to live every day with presence and gratitude. He was a family man who dreamed, planned and struggled that his family might have the best. His sacrifices were quiet. His life was love expressed.
To our remarkable man, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
We would like to extend special thanks to:
