Margaret E. Friers, born April 6, 1933 in Amsterdam, NY, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 at the home of close friends Alberta Grandstaff and family in Skaneateles, NY.

  Margaret graduated from Johnstown High School and the former Amsterdam Business Institute. She was employed at the Gloversville Leader Herald for over 30 years.  

Margaret is survived by several nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and several great great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several cousins.  

Margaret was predeceased by her parents Ernest J. Friers and Nettie Robinson Friers, as well as her brothers and sisters Willis, Ernest Jr., Flora, Wilber, and Mary Peluso.  

A special thanks to the entire Grandstaff family from Skaneateles with whom she traveled extensively, enjoying shopping and dining in many local restaurants.

  Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 12 PM to 1 PM at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger and Stewart Family Funeral homes, 15 Main Street Fultonville, NY 12072. A service will take place at the funeral home at 1 PM. Burial will take place in Maple Avenue Cemetery in the spring.
