Richard Timothy “Tim” Kelley, born on May 27, 1958, in Boston, Massachusetts, died on January 31, 2025, in Perry, Georgia, with his wife, Christine Kelley (Satkevich), by his side. Tim died after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Richard T. Kelley and Virginia Jane Kelley (Kelley).
Tim grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School with the Class of 1976. He went on to attend Boston College, where he continued to build lifelong friendships and pursue his education with dedication and pride.
After college, Tim built a successful career in the technology and communications field. He served as the General Manager at Hargray Internet Services in Perry, Georgia, where he was known for his leadership, his steady presence, and his commitment to both his team and the community the company served.
Tim is survived by his devoted sons, Michael Kelley (Meg) of Wrentham, Massachusetts, and Richard Timothy “Timmy” Kelley III of Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Cameron Kelley, Brooke Kelley, and Jade Kelley, each of whom brought him immense joy.
He is also survived by his siblings: Robert C. Kelley (Jane Colford) of Jupiter, Florida; Jane Kelley Coffua (Curt) of Waltham, Massachusetts; Sarah J. Kelley of Watertown, Massachusetts; and his dear brother John Kelley (Marlena Gilbert) of Nashua, New Hampshire. John provided extraordinary care and unwavering devotion to Tim throughout the last year of his life, a kindness the family will always remember.
Tim is further survived by his wife Chrissy’s family: her mother, Sally Doyle; her brothers, Mark, Matt, and John Doyle; Neil Doyle and his wife, Erica; and her sister Julie and her husband, Bill Fitzgerald. He is also lovingly remembered by Chrissy’s two sons, Eddie Satkevich and Jesse Satkevich, and by Jesse’s son, Teddy, all of whom held a special place in Tim’s life.
Tim loved spending time fishing along the Cape Cod Canal, a place where he found peace and joy. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, especially when it came to baseball and could talk stats, players, and games with anyone who shared his passion. His most cherished adventures, though, were the trips he took to London with Chrissy, a city that became a backdrop for some of their happiest memories together.
He was also a loving uncle to his nieces, nephews and beloved great nieces and nephews: Jen Carey (Tom), Liz Dunleavy (Tom), Emily Davis, Olivia Coffua, Amy Kelley, Matt Davis, Daniel Coffua, and Ashley Kelley. Tim shared wonderfully close and often hilariously memorable connections with each of them.
Tim will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his dear friends Barry Bella and Rick Mansur, who were like two more brothers to him and whose bond with Tim brought him great comfort and joy throughout his life. His entire family will miss him terribly but are comforted that he is at peace.
A celebration to honor Tim’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
