**Biography of Dora Ann Martinez** Dora Ann Martinez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on October 19, 1949, in La Mesa, New Mexico, to Emma and David Rico. She lived a life full of warmth, curiosity, and creativity. Dora passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, at the Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by her loved ones. Dora's journey intersected with love on September 22, 1973, when she married Alejandro E. Martinez, the man who would cherish her for 52 wonderful years. Their love story began in Chandler, Arizona, where Alejandro first laid eyes on her and thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Together, they raised two children, Melanie Senn and Alex Martinez, nurturing a family built on love and support. Dora was particularly proud of her grandchildren: Haley (Corbin), Kate, Natalie, and Mia Senn. While she celebrated their accomplishments, her heart also held the memory of three grandchildren who had preceded her, Ben & Emerson Senn, and Angel Martinez, who remained lovingly in her heart. A lifelong learner, Dora earned her Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Central Arizona College in January 1999. She embarked on a fulfilling career, first working at Motorola and later dedicating over a decade to Maricopa County Head Start as a teacher's aide, where her nurturing spirit shone brightly. Dora's personality was a mosaic of traits that made her remarkable. She was curious, hardworking, and independent, with a fierce determination that inspired those around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as reading several books, watching crime shows, camping in the beautiful Payson area, gardening, and crafting with her grandchildren. Her feisty spirit and good cooking also made family gatherings memorable. Dora's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family, including her living siblings David and Margie, and the cherished memory of her departed siblings: Arthur, Joe, Isidro, Lilia, Estella, and Anna. A private celebration of life will be held to honor her memory, a time for family to come together in love and remembrance. Dora Ann Martinez may have departed from this world, but her legacy of love, strength, and creativity will forever resonate in the lives she touched.
