Rickey Eugene Coulson, aged 75, passed away on November 22, 2025, in Parker, Colorado. Born on July 28, 1950, in Illinois, Rickey was known for his deep commitment to his family, his country, and his career.

 

Rickey served honorably in both the Army and the Marines, dedicating four years to the Army and two years to the Marines. His military service was marked by a profound dedication to his fellow servicemen and the nation. Rick was Proud to be an American and Sacrificed for our Country in Vietnam 1968-1974.  

 

Professionally, Rickey was a respected figure in the aerospace industry. He began his career as an A-4 Engine Mechanic at McDonnell Douglas AC in Hawthorne, CA, and held various significant positions throughout his career, including Supervisor of Engine Install at Northrop in Palmdale, CA, and Engine Install Inspector "Licensed A&I Inspector" at Canada Air in Mojave, CA. He was an Industrial Engineer for the Stationization of the B1-B Bomber at Rockwell Int., Palmdale, CA, and contributed to the Space Shuttle Modification Program. His work on the Shuttle Discovery's flight STS-95 drag chute door redesign was one of his proudest achievements, earning him a Flag and Mission patch.  

 

Rickey is survived by his loving wife, Deborah, and her children and grandchildren. His family includes step-sons Michael Bowe (Maya) of Mission Viejo, CA, and Daniel Bowe of Hanford, CA; step-daughter Michelle O’Bannon (Jeffery) of Billings, MO; and their children Shane, Marin, Deven, Dio, Charity, Kelli, and Jeffery Jr. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Robert Lewis (Georganna) of Mena, AR, and sister-in-law Yvonne Deaso (Marc) of Palmdale, CA. Rickey was the youngest of nine siblings and the last known survivor of his original immediate family.  

 

Rickey was laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery on December 12, 2025.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rickey’s memory may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America, or to his fraternal organizations: Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Elks (BPOE), Eagles, and Moose, honoring his life and service.  

 

Rickey Eugene Coulson will be remembered as a dedicated serviceman, a skilled professional, and a beloved family man. His legacy of commitment and excellence will continue to inspire all who knew him.
