Ellen Marie Homes (Rita), age 86, passed away peacefully in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on January 1, 2026.
Ellen was born on November 28, 1939, in Nebraska, where she was raised by her parents, Stephen Henry Patrick and Evelyn Irene Patrick (Bennett). On May 6, 1956, she married Wesley C. Homes, and together they shared many beautiful years of marriage until his passing in December of 2016.
Ellen will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Cindy Homes of Colorado Springs, CO; Kim Imke of Colorado Springs, CO; Twyla Thompson of Gloucester, VA; and Paula Homes of Coventry, UK. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and her beloved fur baby, Sarah, who brought her great comfort and companionship.
Family and friends are invited to gather to view Ellen and spend time with her on January 14, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Ellen will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Wesley, at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, where they will be reunited once more.
