Consuelo “Connie” B. Rivera has gone home to her Heavenly Father, peacefully at home. She was surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her “soul mate” Alejandro “Alex” Rivera, her parents Jaime & Petrita Garcia, her In-laws Pablito & Josefina Rivera, Sister Bonnie Chacon and her brothers and sister in laws.
She is survived by her children Mary Frances Candelaria (Antonio Lucero) and Alejandro "Henry" Rivera Jr, grandchildren N. Daniel Candelaria, Bonnie Candelaria (Sara Nannemann), brother Toby Garcia (Della), Sister-in-law Josie Rivera. Plus, numerous nieces and nephews. She had two special great-grandchildren as she called them Tyler and Aaliyah “Gracie” Lujan.
She grew up in El Prado (Taos). She came to Albuquerque in 1960 where she lived to this day.
She was lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints She served a mission for her church, The Spanish American Mission in Texas.
Connie was an accomplished artist till her eyesight failed her. She loved painting her beloved Norther New Mexico. Connie was a concerned parent who was instrumental in getting the Special Education Program here in APS.
Her pallbearers will be Ben Rivera Jeffrey, Jaime Gabriel Hoyt, Phillip and Ben Campbell. Honorary pallbearers N. Daniel, Bonnie B Candelaria, Joseph Rivera, Jason Mclauren, Tyler, Aaliyah “Gracie” Lujan.
Connie wanted to give special thanks to Antonio Lucero, for being so good to her and Mary Frances. She loved him greatly. She also wanted to give her church family thanks for all your love and prayers through the years. Her most special and grateful thanks to Alex “Henry” and Daniel for taking such wonderful care of her.
