Rita M. (Burger) Mueller, 78, of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 16 while at home. She was born on February 23, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, preceded by her parents, Edward Burger and Rose Marie (DiMercurio) Burger of St. Louis, Missouri and husband Richard H. Mueller Jr.
She is survived by her two daughters Richia J. (Mueller) Mack (David) and Rose M. (Mueller) Timmons, three grandchildren Mina (Mack) Vickers, Sagen Timmons, Ayer Timmons, and two great-grandchildren, Paisleigh and Xavier Vickers, two sisters Ms. Cyndi Burger and Ms. Rebecca Stanley and brother, Rick Burger.
Rita was a generous soul with a gift for storytelling, someone who found true joy in gathering with family and friends. She loved conversation, laughter, and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by those she cared about. Adventurous at heart—especially when it came to food—Rita delighted in trying new restaurants, a pastime made even sweeter when shared it with her granddaughter.
After proudly retiring from Anheuser-Busch, Rita and her husband embraced a life of exploration, living in Austin, Texas, St. George, Utah, and eventually settling in Sun City Center, Florida, where she could be closer to her beloved sisters. Wherever she lived, Rita created connection, community, and lasting memories.
A Celebration of Life for Rita will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Rita’s favorite animal charities, either to the charity of your choice, the ASPCA, or St. Francis Society Animal Rescue.
