Patricia Anne Williams, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. She was a resident of The Columbia Presbyterian Community.
Born on February 7, 1932, Paricia was the daughter of the late Pearl Neese Williams and Fred Busbee Williams of Columbia. She was also preceded in death by her sister Carol Lynn Williams, and her nephew, U.S. Air Force veteran Fred Williams Bethea (Connie Pickens).
Patricia is survived by her beloved sister Joyce Williams Bethea of Latta, South Carolina; her nieces and nephews, Joy Bethea Cutler (Howard) of Richmond, Virginia; Henry Louis “Hank” Bethea (Barbara) of Lillington, North Carolina; Christopher Lynn Bethea of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Jenny Bethea Foley (Chris) of Blairsville, Georgia; as well as numerous Great and Great-Great nieces and nephews.
Patricia was educated in the Columbia City public school system and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts from Montreat College in North Carolina. She later received her master’s degree from the University of Maine. She dedicated 30 years of her life to education as a devoted schoolteacher, serving students at Pageland, Hartsville, Eau Claire, and Airport High Schools.
A woman of deep faith, Patricia was actively devoted to her church and shared her love of scripture by teaching Bible classes. She had a lifelong appreciation for literature, reading, music, and animals, and these passions brought her great joy throughout her life.
Patricia will be remembered for her commitment to learning, her faith, and the care that she showed to others. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched as an educator, teacher of faith, a friend, and beloved family member.
The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm at The Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington, SC. The burial will follow there in the cemetery.
