Margaret K. Zulian (née Bambino) (“Marg”, “Margie K”, “Maggie”, “Mom”, “Mama”, “Nana”), age 80, of Broomfield, Colorado (formerly Grand Junction, Colorado), passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025 at her home.
Margaret was born in Grand Junction, Colorado to Nadine and Mose Bambino on May 8, 1945. She grew up in Western Colorado, one of seven children, and spent a significant amount of her early adult years in California as a new wife and mother. Margaret worked as an assembly line technician in many organizations in California and Colorado before retiring in 2007 from Ametek/Dixon in Grand Junction.
Margaret was most proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and lover of books, butterflies, dragons and fairies. She loved her family with everything she had and had a penchant for learning something every day. She liked to say she was born on Victory Day - the day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces.
She never missed an opportunity to share her wealth of knowledge of the world and life with her family. She was always reading something - news, stories, books, magazines. She was proud of her Italian and Scott’s Irish heritage and was usually always game for any new activity citing she’d try anything once. She made the best oatmeal cookies and was hard to beat in a best-of-three game of Zilch - a family favorite.
Margaret is survived by her children Gina Zulian (Sherri Jordan), Kimberly Zulian (Aaron Steinberg), and Amber Bateman (Blackstone); sisters Phyllis Ray, and Diana Bambino Asher; six grandchildren, Whitney S. (Richard), Kaitlin P. (Drew), Daniel P. (Logan), Gemma B., Helli B., Emmi S.; four great-grandsons, Gavin T., Jacoby S., Levi S. and Luke S. and many, many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, David, parents, Mose and Nadine, brothers Joe, Tom and Ed, sister Mellie, and granddaughter Adeline.
Per Margaret’s wishes, she will be cremated and returned to her family for interment in the Grand Junction Cemetery, date to be determined.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, Margaret would have greatly appreciated any memorial donations be made in her honor to any library, Special Olympics, Disabled American Veterans, or Shriners Children’s.
