Joanne D’Ambrosi (née Devine) passed away on December 31, 2025, in Littleton, Colorado, at the age of 74, after courageously battling frontotemporal dementia. She was born on September 12, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Mary Devine (née Pecorino). Though she spent her final years in Colorado, Joanne lived most of her life in New York and always considered Brooklyn her true home.

Joanne was a devoted mother and grandmother who put family above all else. She loved to host, cook, and laugh with the people she loved most, filling her home with warmth and generosity. With her kind smile, she was always among the first to lend a hand or offer support. Friends were never just friends to Joanne—they were family.

She devoted 26 years of service to the New York City Police Department, where she worked as a Senior Police Administrative Aide. Joanne began her career at the 61st Precinct in Brooklyn and later served at Floyd Bennett Field with the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit. She was deeply proud of her work and especially proud to be part of the NYPD ESU family.

Joanne is survived by her children, Jennifer LaBonge (Kevin LaBonge), Julie Stamm (Adam Romsdahl), and Karen D’Ambrosi (Bobby Colombo). She adored her grandchildren—Madelyn, Lucy, and Jack—and found immense joy simply being in their presence. She was also eagerly looking forward to welcoming another grandchild into the family. Joanne is additionally survived by the fathers of her children, Robert Stamm and Paul D’Ambrosi, with whom she shared lasting friendships.

She was preceded in death by her four siblings, Joseph Devine, Ronald Devine, Dolores King, and Rose Dimarzo. She now joins them in eternal rest.

Joanne’s spirit lives on through her family and in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and love.

A celebration of life and Catholic Mass will take place in Brooklyn, New York, in September 2026.
