Sarah June Nicholls, 43, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away at home with her family on December 19th, 2025.

Sarah was born February 13,1982, in Beeville, Texas, to Sue Swanson and Dalton Strickland. She graduated from Chaffee County High School in 2000 and attended Colorado Mountain College, graduating in 2006.

Sarah met her future husband, Mike Nicholls, in the summer of 1998, in Buena Vista, Colorado. They went separate ways for a few years but always stayed in contact with each other, reconnecting for good in 2003. They welcomed their first child, Acacia, in March of 2005. On September 25, 2010, Mike and Sarah were married during a quick trip to Las Vegas and moved to Colorado Springs soon thereafter. They welcomed their son, Lleven, in September of 2011.

Our dear Sarah loved history and pouring over any maps she could get her hands on and also  collected various types of globes. She worked as a title examiner for Land Title Guarantee for almost 13 years. Sarah loved her job very much and was extremely passionate about learning and gathering all of the information she could find on the properties she researched, as she was a self-proclaimed ‘title nerd.’

One of Sarah’s most beloved pastimes was traveling with her family. She enjoyed that above all else. Other things that brought her joy included spending time with her pets, music and going to as many concerts as possible in a year, her plethora of puzzles and how fast she could do them, cross-stitching inappropriate things for friends, and collecting bones and skulls the family would find in the woods. Due to her love of history and learning new things, Sarah made a point of following Doc Holliday's path across the western states. She also loved going to different hot springs and would go whenever possible. Sarah loved deeply and cared about so many things. It is hard to put a lifetime into a few sentences. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Sarah is survived by her Husband Mike, their Children, Acacia and Lleven, her Sister Michelle Brown, Niece Kaysie, and Nephew Michael, or Mr. B, as Sarah would call him. Sarah also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Mother Sue and Father Dalton, her Uncle Darwin, and her grandparents. 

Services for Sarah will be Jan 13th at 1:00 pm, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.

There will be a celebration of life to follow, in Salida, Colorado, on Sarah's birthday, February 13, 2026. Time and place to be determined at a later date.
