In the grand fishing trip of life, Harry Richard Burns (also known as “Dick” or “Dickie”) navigated the waters with hard work, spirit and a little bit of grumpiness. Born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, on September 25, 1940, and departing this world on November 26, 2025, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Harry left a mark on everyone who knew him.
A proud veteran, Harry served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1963. His commitment to service extended beyond the military; he spent many years as a hardworking crane operator and a member of Operating Engineers #9.
Harry had a passion for fishing, hunting, golf, watching sports, and listening to classic country music. His greatest joy, though, came from his loyal dog, Toro, who was always by his side through the highs and lows of life.
Survived by his son, John Burns, and his daughter-in-law, Marianne; his daughter, Lisa Krutsch, and her husband, Melvin; grandson, Colton Krutsch; granddaughter, Skyler Gonzalez, and her husband, Galindo and his great-grandchildren: Noah, Paisley, and Granger Gonzalez.
Along with his immediate family, Harry is survived by his siblings: Letty Boaz, Margaret Gaffga, Catherine Altmann, Barbara Tyler, John (Jackie) Burns, Robert (Bobby) Burns, and Preston (Frankie) Burns. He reunites in spirit with his beloved wife, Pamela L. (Rosenthal) Burns, as well as his parents, Mary P. (Wallace) Burns and John S. Burns, and his sisters, Dawn Schultz and Carolyn Giberson.
Rest in paradise, Harry. Your family hopes you are sitting by a lake fishing with Pam, your parents, sisters, and friends with “On the road again’ playing on the radio.
Although the family has yet to set a date for his service, it will be held at the Fort Logan Military Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
