John Nee Obituary John "Jack" Nee passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 95 years old and lived a long, full, and meaningful life.Jack was one of seven sons raised in South Boston, where he learned the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance that guided him throughout his life.A proud veteran, Jack served in the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He endured harsh conditions and intense combat, was wounded in action, and was awarded the Silver Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Korean Service Medal-honors he carried with quiet pride.In 1955, Jack married Pauline (Grigalunas) of South Boston. They raised three sons, Jack, Paul, and Bryan, in Foxboro, MA. Jack spent his career at New England Telephone and always found time to throw a football or play catch.In 1983, Jack married Carol (McCafferty) of Revere, Massachusetts. They raised two children, Adam and Lauren, in Plymouth, Massachusetts and Sarasota, Florida.Jack also had communications careers with the General Services Administration and the Bank of Boston before retiring to Sarasota, Florida. Visits with his family were the times he most cherished. He was an avid reader, loved the sunshine, sports, and key lime pie.Jack was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Nee and Mary (Mae) King, and by his brothers Lefty, Paul, Jim, and Tom. He is survived by his wife Carol; brothers Dennis and Fran; children Jack, Paul, Bryan, Adam, and Lauren; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.A private family ceremony will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery with a celebration of life to be scheduled in the Boston area at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV). www.dav.org
