Thomas (Tom) Orlando Trujillo peacefully passed away on Monday December 22, 2025 at the age of 77.  Born on September 11, 1948, Tom was an early graduate of Englewood High School, Class of ’68. 

 

Tom then entered the United States Army where he served in Vietnam, earning a Purple Heart on August 7, 1982 for WOUNDS RECEIVED IN ACTION in the Republic of South Vietnam on August 3, 1968;  AWARD OF THE ARMY MEDAL with the “V” device for heroism in connection with military operations against a hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam; THE ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL on August 11, 1968 for heroism in the Republic of Vietnam on April 18, 1968.

 

Post Army, Tom retired from the Denver Water Department after 24 years of service. He also worked as a care giver, roofer and satellite installer. 

 

Tom enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, telling stories and jokes, his grand children and great grandchildren and helping others. 

 

Tom is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Stella Trujillo, son Leroy Trujillo, grandson Michael Trujillo, sister Freida Vallejos, brother Jim Trujillo, and stepson Gerald (Jerry) Fernandez. 

 

Tom is survived by his wife Margie Garcia, son Thomas (Erin) Trujillo Jr, daughters Rachel Trujillo and Leanne Trujillo (John Sawyer), ex-wife and mother of his children Rachel Pacheco, daughter-in-law Toni Trujillo, sister Rachel (Bill) Lucero, brothers Bill (Robyn) Trujillo, Larry (Wanda) Trujillo, step-daughters Christa Madrid and Angel Fernandez, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

 

Thomas will receive full military honors at his service on Friday, January 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetary. 

 

Rest easy Thomas O. We love you and miss you so much.
