Beverly R. Cartrette, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 6, 2026. Born in Hamlet, NC, she was the daughter of the late Isacc Boyd Reese, Jr., and Lillian Todd Reese Dawkins. She was the stepdaughter of the late Charles D. Dawkins.

Beverly graduated from Hamlet High School in 1971. She was employed with the SC Department of Motor Vehicles, SC Student Loan Corporation, The Santee Shoppe, and Hallmark.

Beverly met the love of her life, Rick, on a blind date along the coast of SC, and they were married July 25, 1971, in Hamlet, NC. They moved to Columbia and made their lifetime home in Irmo, SC. They are now reunited and shagging together in heaven.

Beverly was a caring and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. In her leisure time, she loved to attend her grandchildren's activities, garden, shop, decorate, and play cards with her dear friends. She was an avid fan and supporter of Gamecock football for more than 40 years.

She is survived by her three children: Charity Garris (Michael); Kristen Sellers; Cory Cartrette (Hope) and seven grandchildren: Hunter and Matthew Garris; Jordan and Kaitlyn Keisler; Jackson, Kennedy, and McKinley Cartrette; and two great-grandchildren: Reese and Lawson.

She is predeceased by her parents and brother, Arthur Randy Reese.

Mom and Meme deeply loved her family, friends, and the Lord.
