Joan M. Clear, 93, of Hilton Head passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025. The daughter of Frank and Helen Beck, she was born August 29, 1932, in Tarrytown, NY. A one of a kind soul, she always had some incredible stories, including the time she gave back the 1954 Corvette because she “didn’t like it”. Joan was an animal lover of all sizes, enjoying the company of many dogs, cats, and even a few horses along the way. Whether she was volunteering at Heroes on Horseback, playing Bridge with her friends, or solving all the problems of the world with a single phone call and “Hey Buddy” to one of her many grandchildren, she always made the world a better place. Nana Joan, as she was known by her loving grandkids and great grandkids, was always ready for a hug, and to hear all about their latest endeavors at school or in life. Joan was predeceased by her brother Frank and her sister Doris, as well as her loving husband of over 50 years John B. Clear (2006).She is survived by her 4 children, John (Michele), Barbara, Ken (Joyce), and Jeff (Lisa) as well as Grandkids Lisa (Brandon), Michael (Natalie), Andrew (Mary), Melissa, Jessica, Branden, Ellie, and Great Grandkids Adeline, Emelia, JT, Michael and a lifetimes worth of friends!
